MovingON on the Ground: The Journey Continues in Greece
Across Europe, MovingON partners are bringing the “Caring for Crime and Violence Prevention in My Neighbourhood” Training Package to life through a series of local pilot trainings designed to empower justice-involved and at-risk young people.
As part of this collective journey, we are sharing stories and experiences emerging from each country as the pilots unfold.
As part of this journey, we highlight Thessaloniki, Greece, where IASIS NGO implemented the WP3 pilot at the Connect Thessaloniki Day Centre. The activities engaged adolescents facing social, educational, and psychosocial challenges in a participatory process of reflection, dialogue, and community exploration.
Through psychoeducational groups, experiential activities, and participatory methods, young people were encouraged to identify local needs, express their perspectives, and strengthen their confidence and sense of agency. By creating safe spaces for participation and combining psychosocial support with restorative and community-based approaches, the pilot fostered meaningful engagement and positive youth development.
This local experience is one of seven pilot trainings taking place across Europe. Together, these initiatives are transforming the MovingON vision into concrete action, enabling young people to move from conflict to participation and become active contributors to safer and more inclusive communities.
Stay tuned as we continue to share the stories, insights, and lessons emerging from our local pilots across Europe.
